  1. 2013.08.28 130828 : a Thank You Letter to AirFrance Head Office

Thank you letter

To whom it may concern

Bonjour,

This is Jaden from South Korea.

I'm writing this letter because I would like to say thank you for the kindest and accurate help of one of the AirFrance staff member.

It was July 21st and the flight I was supposed to take was AF1944 which was from Charles de Gaulle Paris, France to Sheremetyevo Moscow, Russia. The flight was to take off at 9:35 AM, so I got to the airport at about 7, having time to spare. I couldn't figure out what was the problem till now; however I tried to check-in with my e-ticket number in front of the kiosk near the 4 and 5 counters at terminal 2E. But somehow, my boarding pass was not issued properly, instead, saying “There's a problem, ask for the staff.”

So I was sent to the AirFrance ticket office near the 4 and 5 AirFrance counter and the madam staff there told me that there seemed to be not any problem with my booking itself. She also did not know why it did not work (still, she could not issue the proper form of my boarding pass either), saying therefore, I should go to Aeroflot counter which was at terminal 2C.

Since my flight was originally in charge of Aeroflot and it was code share flight, I had no choice but to go to terminal 2C with my heavy luggage and the hand carrier. When I got to the terminal 2C, it was about 8:10 in the morning. I found the Aeroflot counter, but there was a notification saying that the Aeroflot counter opens at 9:30 which would be just five minutes before the take-off of my flight and that would be too late for me. At that moment, there was no other way for me other than just to find any solution for this.

Fortunately there was AirFrance ticket office which was not very far from the Aeroflot counter. There were a madam and a monsieur in the ticket office, and the staff member who took charge of my case on that day was the male staff with a short black hair, very low and a deep voice, mustache, and with no glasses.

Showing my e-ticket document and the "Ask for staff” written boarding pass paper, I explained him about my problem, saying I was told to come there to Aeroflot counter at terminal 2C, but it was closed for then and I didn't have time to wait till they open, so I would appreciate if the he could solve the situation. After listening to me, he made several phone calls (I guess it was to Aeroflot), but unfortunately it didn't go well. He kept checking things for few minutes looking at the monitor, and talked about my situation with his female colleague who was right there next to him for several minutes more. He also called the AirFrance ticket office at 2E to check the current situation, not to make me visit in vain wandering from terminal 2E to 2C with all those my belongings. I don’t remember exactly but it took more than 15 minutes for me to wait for FINALLY some positive answer.

He told me there was no problem at all with my booking and the e-ticket number, just like the lady I met before, and as there was not enough time for me to stand in a long queue, getting back to terminal 2E, he would check-in for me right there in the ticket office at terminal 2C! I have got to say here that I have taken flights several times alone but I never have had such a problem before using planes till then, so I was quite embarrassed regarding the time left. And the boarding pass I got form him on that day was the most precious and welcoming one in my life as you may have very well imagined.

So, here again, I would really like to thank him, the staff member of the AirFrance for helping me with the very patience, tenacity, and trying so hard to solve my situation, and the lastly and the most impressively, his careful consideration for me to save my time without losing his composure till the very last moment in the situation that could have been stressful. Thanks to him, I could happily and comfortably finish such an intensive month-long schedule of mine in Europe even with my seat just next to the exit in the plane.

You know, I really didn’t have time to think about catching his name and expressing my gratitude to him at that moment. But I thought, as soon as I got here in my country, that I must write in MY HAND and thank him for the event on that day. I would appreciate very much if only you could at least let me know the name of the staff member of AirFrance who was there at terminal 2C ticket office on that day, the 21st of July.

I know it is a bit (well, not a bit, a little too much) late for me to write this letter, but it's only now that I must say thank him for dealing with the situation smoothly on that day on that moment. One deed of a staff member left a very good impression for me about your company, AirFrance. These days, I'm telling my case to my acquaintances and hopefully, I wish they could also have nice experience like me. I don’t know for sure when would it be for me to visit Europe again, but I have a very strong feeling that I would DEFINITELY use AirFrance next time once more.

Thank you for making my long voyage pleasant and unforgettable.

Merci Beaucoup.

P.S. For your information, just in case, this is my e-mail :
